THE FIRM

KNIGHT ASIA GROUP
Knight Asia is a regional alternative investment management group focused on the demographic sweet spot of Southeast Asia with an research team based in Bangkok, a settlement/liaison office in Hong Kong, and directors based in several other Asian countries. Knight Asia emphasizes value investing in emerging Asia markets (excluding Japan/Taiwan/Korea). We strive to achieve high returns with low volatility outperforming the relative and absolute benchmarks (MSCI AC ASEAN). Our investment style is theme first, bottom-up value orientated with a preference for real assets (property, mining, food, shipping, etc.). Knight Asia’s funds tend to be somewhat contrarian in nature in terms of investment selection and timing. Active hedging techniques are applied to avoid the “snakes & ladders” cycles that are prevalent in emerging markets. Knight Asia’s key investment principals have a great depth of expertise in Asian stock market and direct investments with over 70 years combined experience.

ABSOLUTE RETURN
Knight Asia’s funds aim to achieve in excess of 20% appreciation in value each year, through applying momentum in value strategies with contrarian timing.

FEE STRUCTURE
Knight Asia generally charges an annual fee of 1.5-2% of net asset value plus a performance fee of 20% above a high watermark for L/S and Hybrid Fund products.

ALIGNMENT OF INTEREST
Given the founding shareholders’ substantial investment of their own money in the funds, we believe that Knight Asia’s investment philosophy, fee structure, and portfolio disclosure, are fully aligned with investors’ goals.

UNIQUE INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY
We believe our strategy is unique primarily in the way that we integrate anecdotal, fundamental and quantitative momentum techniques with an equity derivatives overlay. Our philosophy is definable, repeatable, transparent and proven;”think differently”: Foresight VS Extrapolation; Contrarian VS Consensus; Insight VS Prejudice.

AWARDS
Knight Mekong Fund was nominated by Asia-Hedge Magazine as “Fund of the Year, Asia Ex-Japan 2014 & 2015.”
